Campout at Gardner Dam - April 5-7

The calendar may have said it was Spring, but our April campout at Gardner Dam definitely felt like winter! We pitched our tents on bare grass and woke up to 4" of snow, perfect for some unexpected sledding. But, the clouds cleared, the mercury climbed to a balmy mid-30s, and it was time for some baseball as well. Toss in some patrol competitions, a hike in the woods, and lots of good food, and it turned out to be a great campout after all.

This campout was a lesson in why a Scout should always Be Prepared. Definitely one for the memory books! Did I say 4" of snow? I'm pretty sure it was 6...or 8...

Winter Camp February 8-10

Troop 1468 picked a great weekend for winter camp--plenty of snow, perfect temperatures, and lots of fun. Highlights included several scouts earning their Polar Bear Camping Award, a snowshoe trek around the bog, Mr. Whiting's epic sledding wipeout (unfortunately not caught on camera), and the worlds longest game of Risk (well, not really). Most important, nobody went home hungry...

Bell Ringing/Pizza/Bowling 12-1-12

Troop 1468 spent time ringing bells for the Salvation Army.  Some boys even brought their instruments and entertained shoppers with their lively music.  Afterwards they enjoyed bowling and pizza with a trophy award ceremony to wrap things up.

Holiday for Heroes 11-29-12

Troop 1468 participated in writing Christmas cards for our troops that are deployed overseas and unable to return home for Christmas.  The boys had fun doing it and I'm sure were able to put smiles on the faces of many of our service men and women with their notes.
