SUMMER CAMP – TESOMAS SCOUT CAMP – JUNE 19 – 25, 2016
I know with this cold frigid weather it’s hard to think
about Summer Camp, but before you know it June will be here and we need to plan
ahead. So it’s never too early to start
thinking about Boy Scout Summer Camp. You will need to have a medical form
filled out so make sure to plan ahead to visit your doctor.
This year the Scouts took a vote and decided they wanted to
go to Tesomas Scout Camp instead of Bear Paw. It is located on Crystal Lake
located North of Rhinelander. It is a similar experience to Bear Paw in a
different setting.
You will be camping out in tents all week. Troop 1468 does
have some tents and there are some scouts that will bring their own. As time gets closer and plans are made, these
details can be worked out.
The Troop will be dining in the dining hall. They encourage lots of enthusiasm in the
Dining Hall during meals, so please join in on the fun!
For your swimming experience there is beautiful spring fed
Crystal Lake (there is no pool).
Units will assist with camp wide duties such as flag
ceremonies, manning swim towers on the Waterfront, cleaning the shower building
and maintaining a respectable campsite.
You have opportunities to learn lots of Scout skills and
earn merit badges. There are also
Advancement opportunities, so make sure to sign up for these. But most of all you will have fun, fun,
fun!!!!
We will have Scout leaders attending the camp with the Scouts,
and will have parent volunteers providing transportation. We may be asking for volunteers to provide
transportation, how many drivers we need will depend on how many Scouts we have
attending camp.
